The house is situated in an enclosed, green landscape setting with fine views and easy access to the city centre.
The en-suite bedrooms are spacious with high ceilings, marble or stone Georgian fireplaces and large sash windows, some with working shutters. All the rooms have new bathrooms. The furnishings are a mix of contemporary and antique styles. All rooms have colour TV, radio alarm clock, hairdryer, tea/coffee making facilities and king size beds.
Breakfast is served in the sunny dining room overlooking the garden complete with resident squirrel.
There is a wide choice including; fresh fruit, yoghurt, cereals, continental or English breakfast. Gluten free and vegetarian diets are catered for with prior notice. Free range eggs and local organic produce is used when ever possible.
Grove Lodge, 1788 is a fine, Grade II listed, Georgian villa and the home of an architect (Peter Richards) and his wife, a former teacher (Isabel Miles).
