Bed and Breakfast Description |
| |
|
Rezare Farmhouse Bed & Breakfast offers comfortable, characterful, peaceful accommodation with an emphasis on good food and sustainability. Dogs are welcome.
Situated in a quiet hamlet within the Tamar Valley on the Cornwall / Devon border, midway between Bodmin moor and Dartmoor and both coasts, you will be perfectly placed to explore the region's many and varied attractions.
All rooms are generously sized, contain touches of luxury in the important areas, and are furnished to a high standard. The beds have high quality individually pocket sprung mattresses, bed linen is 100% Egyptian cotton, the blankets are beautifully soft pure virgin wool, and we offer both goose feather and down, and non-allergenic pillows. Each bed is also covered with one of Nanette's hand-made quilts.
Each room has ensuite facilities, with handmade soaps, a selection of high quality toiletries, and large cotton towels.
Breakfast makes use of the fact that Launceston has an excellent butcher who make their own delicious sausages and cure their own bacon. Eggs come from our own chickens, we bake fresh bread daily, make our own yoghurt and granola, and have a range of home-made preserves.
As well as the traditional full English breakfast we offer alternatives such as kippers, or smoked salmon and scrambled eggs.
Three-course meals are available most nights, freshly prepared by Nanette, who spent 20 years cooking professionally. The menus, which change daily, make full use of the fact that we have many excellent producers and suppliers of meat, fish, vegetables and cheeses locally. We use seasonal produce whenever possible and use ingredients that speak for themselves. We are licensed, and stock a range of award-winning, locally produced wines, beers and ciders.
Our aim is that you should feel comfortable and well-looked-after, in relaxed surroundings, and look forward to welcoming you to our home. |

Launceston Attractions |
| |
Because the Tamar Valley forms the boundary between Cornwall and Devon, it is often overlooked by those travelling to Cornwall for their holidays. For this reason it retains a quiet, peaceful and relaxing atmosphere in which to visit its many hidden attractions, and provides an excellent base from which to explore the wider area.
Enjoy the river, either by hiring a rowing boat with outboard motor, taking a guided canoe trip, or helping to sail a small gaff-rigged boat.
Take a scenic train journey on the Tamar Valley Line, from Gunnislake down to Plymouth, maybe stopping off at one or two of the small villages en route for something to eat and drink.
See the area at a slower pace by taking advantage of numerous public footpaths ( including the Tamar Trail ) or by cycling along quiet country lanes, or even in a hot air balloon.
Fish for salmon or sea trout on one of the most beautiful stretches of river in the country.
Visit one of the numerous gardens and nurseries throughout the area.
Beyond the valley, and within easy reach of it, Cornwall and Devon offer much to see and do, including:
Cornwall and Devon
The wide, open spaces of Bodmin and Dartmoor.
Miles of coast paths with sandy beaches, small coves, tiny fishing villages built around natural harbours within the high cliffs, from which you might spot seals, dolphins or even basking shark.
Many grand old houses with beautiful gardens that benefit from being located on the edge of the Gulf Stream, and so support extraordinary tropical plants.
Remains of intense mining activities, whose technological inventions were at the forefront of the Industrial Revolution and exported worldwide.
A new wave of small food and drink producers who are responsible for this part of the country fast developing a reputation for excellent produce based upon the simple principles of sustainability, quality ingredients and enthusiasm.
The world famous Eden Project ( 45 minutes drive ). |
