Bed and Breakfast Description

 

Blanche's Guesthouse is centrally situated in Clay Cross, just south of Chesterfield town centre, well located as a base from which to explore the beautiful local countryside.

Many famous historic stately homes can be found nearby such as Chatsworth House, Hardwick Hall and Haddon Hall.

A host of other attractions are also placed near-at-hand such as the picturesque towns of Bakewell and Matlock, as well as the High Peak with its popular caverns and walks.

Stuart & Robert warmly invite you into their Victorian home. We have two double en-suite bedrooms, each with a Freeview TV and hospitality tray. Guests also have the use of their own sitting room with TV and access to local guides and maps.

Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate pets or children under the age of 12 years.

From the M1:

Leave the motorway at Junction 29 (A617).

Take the A6175 exit off the roundabout signposted to Clay Cross passing through Holmewood and North Wingfield (approximately 4 miles).

After crossing the railway line, the road heads uphill into Clay Cross on Market Street, past Egstow Convenience Store which is on the left-hand side of the street.

We are situated approximately 200 metres further on, on the right-hand side of Market Street at the beginning of a small terrace of 4 houses and on the corner with Brassington Street.

From the A61 from Derby or Chesterfield:

On entering Clay Cross follow the signs for the A6175 (Heath/M1).

Continue down Market Street past the Fire Station (on the left) & Clay Cross Community Hospital (on the right).

We are on the left-hand side of Market Street, at the end of a small terrace of 4 houses, adjacent to Brassington Street and opposite Sharley Park Leisure Centre.

Nearest Airport: Nottingham East Midlands  (20  Miles)

Nearest Restaurant/Bistro: Oriental Pearl  (10  Minutes Walk)

Nearest Public House/Bar: The Bluebell Inn, North Wingfield  (3  Minutes Drive)
