Description

Castle Hill Farm House is a grade II listed building set in the heart of the Peak National Park. It is a few minutes walk along the River Wye to the historical town centre of Bakewell in Derbyshire, which boasts incredible countryside, local attractions, and is home to the Original Bakewell Pudding.

The picturesque town of Bakewell is conveniently close to Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall, and a perfect base for walkers.

The Farm House dates back to the 17th century. It has beamed ceilings and there is not a straight wall in the house! All our rooms have been recently professionally redecorated to capture the essence of the building along with the comforts of modern living. All rooms have private facilities and fantastic river views.

We are a family run establishment, providing superior quality bed and breakfast, welcoming tourists and business guests alike. We aim to provide you with an idyllic setting and a magical atmosphere to ensure your stay with us is completely enjoyable...

We have been awarded 4 Diamonds and a Silver Award by the English Tourist Council.

We cater for Vegetarian and Gluten free diets as well as serving our traditional English breakfast. All the produce we use comes from local providers around the Peak District and indeed we support the "Peak District Cuisine" Group.

By law, Castle Hill Farm House building is a non-smoking establishment, but you are welcome to smoke outside in the garden.

Location

We are located in the centre of The Peak National Park, England. As we are situated just off the A6, we can be easily reached from the M1, M6, Manchester Airport and East Midlands Airport. Our closest train stations are Chesterfield , Sheffield , Matlock and Buxton. National Express runs a service from Victoria Coach Station in London to Bakewell town centre, a few minutes walk from us. More details and bookings can be made on their website www.nationalexpress.com.

Directions from the M1 motorway:

-Leave the M1 at junction 29 and take the A617 towards Chesterfield town centre. This is a dual carriageway.

-Follow the signs for the A619 to Baslow, Chatsworth and Bakewell. This is a straight road over the moor from Chesterfield until you reach Baslow.

-Take a left at the first roundabout in Baslow which will take you past the village green, and another left at the next roundabout which will take you out of Baslow.

-About 100 metres out of the Baslow, the A619 continues down a road off to the right, with a signpost to Bakewell. Take this turning. Bakewell is the next town you will come to.

-Coming downhill into Bakewell you will pass a hospital on your left. It is a large old building complex with a drive and gardens at the front of it.

-About 100 metres further down on your left, at the next turning on the left is Castle Mount Crescent , where you can park for Castle Hill Farm House.
