As well as dining out and shopping there are many historic buildings to visit like the world famous Canterbury Cathedral or St Augustine's Abbey, plus a wide choice of art galleries, museums and theatres.

The district has some exceptional shopping to offer for all tastes so be sure to spend some time perusing the shops and soaking up each town’s unique ambience.

In Canterbury itself, the Whitefriars development offers many popular retailers in one spacious and well-designed location. This recently opened venue has helped to ensure the city offers some of the best shopping opportunities in the county.
 

B&B Location

 
By road: Canterbury district has excellent road links with the M20 (M25/ M26) and M2 motorways, providing easy links with London and its airports.

By rail: Canterbury has two mainline stations, East and West, and is served by frequent trains to and from London Charing Cross and London Victoria, as well as to and from Dover Priory and Ramsgate. If you travel by Eurostar to Ashford International there is a regular train service to Canterbury West. Whitstable and Herne Bay stations are both on a direct line from London Victoria.

By bus: The district is well served by Stagecoach East Kent buses from Canterbury Bus Station. For timetable enquiries, please call 08456 00 22 99. There are regular bus services to and from Whitstable and Herne Bay. Park & Ride in Canterbury is an efficient and easy service that goes straight into the heart of the city. All day parking is just £2.00 and covers one driver and up to six passengers. You can park in one of the 1800 spaces across the three sites at New Dover Road, Sturry Road and Wincheap.

By coach: The district is well served by National Express coaches. Coaches travel regularly to and from Canterbury Bus Station to London Victoria and Dover bus stations. Coaches also serve coach stops in Herne Bay and Whitstable.

By sea: There are ferry connections from Calais to Dover or you can take your car through the Channel Tunnel from Calais to Folkestone.

By air: London Gatwick, Heathrow, Stansted, Luton and London City airports are well within 2 hours' drive. Kent International Airport, Manston is 12 miles from Canterbury.
