Description

It is situated in the desirable west end of Folkestone within easy reach of the Channel Tunnel and Dover ferries, making it ideal for anyone en route to the continent.

We can provide evening meals to suit all tastes, budgets and varied diets if requested, or just relax in the friendly bar with a quiet drink at a time to suit you. Tray breakfasts can be provided to your bedroom the night before for early departures.

We have some en-suite rooms, all other bedrooms are located close to bathroom, shower and toilet facilities and are equipped with washbasin, self controlled heating, hospitality trays and remote controlled colour television.

The hotel is one of very few in the area with its own private garden. In the summer we use this for barbeques on the patio or just sitting relaxing under the sun shade with a cold drink.

Local Attractions

The Leas

The Leas Promenade is a cliff top walk of wide lawns, flower beds and a winding Cliffside path. there is an extensive wooded picnic area and children's play area on the lower Sandgate road, below the Leas and beside the beach. Many well known acts appear at the Leas Cliff Hall on the promenade.

Folkestone Harbour and Fish Market

Small local restaurants and cafes dot the cobbled paths surrounding the waters edge and fresh locally caught seafood can be purchased in the nearby renowned fish market.

The Leas Cliff Lift

Opened in 1886 by the 'Folkestone Pier and Lift Company', the cliff lift is one of only three water balanced lifts of its kind still in operation today. If it wasn't for the council buying the structure for 1 shilling in the 1960's, and restoring the carriages then we would not have this unique attraction to marvel at to this day. Offering spectacular views of the French coast and Leas garden's it is a must for anyone visiting the area.

Leas Cliff Hall

The Leas Cliff Hall a short stroll from the hotel, stages many well known productions, top artists frequently appear here.

Dover Castle

A historic castle with a maze of tunnels, used in wartime by Sir Winston Churchill. A whole day can easily be spent here.

The city of Canterbury is one of the most beautiful cities not just in Kent but in all England.
The town centre itself consists of many cobbled winding streets brimming with boutiques and shops selling every possible produce from locally made fudge to exotic furniture.

There are a number of excellent places to visit in this city including the amazing Cathedral built in 597 AD by St Augustine. Guided tours are available and are both interesting and informative.

Another of Canterbury's more unusual places is the Canterbury Tales , a fun look at the short stories that made Geoffrey Chaucer and Kent famous.
