Bed and Breakfast Description

White Cottage B&B Hastings is in the peaceful village of Fairlight. It is a cheerful, informal, non-smoking Bed and Breakfast establishment and prides itself on its cleanliness and attention to detail. It has beautiful gardens, ideal for nature lovers where foxes and badgers often make visits in the evenings. Relax in our large, bright guest lounge or in the sun room.

Local Attractions
Bodiam Castle is one of Britain's most famous and evocative castles it is Sussex Family Attraction of the Year with Medieval battlements, ramparts and moat to explore. Try on armour (on selected days in school holidays)Enjoy wonderful views across an archaeology-rich landscape.

Hastings Country Park Nature Reserve is a 'must see'. It is a unique area of maritime cliff with a cliff top area of maritime acid grassland and heath, gill woodland (including some ancient woodland), scrub, neutral grassland, and amenity grassland. The cliffs at Hastings Country Park constitute the largest area of the High Weald ridge that meets the sea. This sandstone and clay coastline is uniquely positioned between the alluvial plains of Rye Bay and Pevensey Bay and the chalk of the North and South Downs.

Rye is an ancient town situated on the south coast of England in the county of East Sussex. It has its own harbour and is part of the 1000 year old Cinque Ports defence association of south east England. Nowadays, it is very much a tourist attraction, with its own thriving market. Rye harbour is very popular with sailing enthusiasts. And nearby, the nature reserve keeps bird watchers occupied all year round.
 

B&B Location
From Hastings: From the sea front take the A259 to Rye. At Ore Village just after the pedestrian crossing turn right on the Fairlight Road, follow this road out of Ore towards Fairlight. Pass Fairlight church on the right after approximately 2 miles and then continue down the hill (stop to take in the view over Rye Bay if you wish) the road continues to wind down the hill, then straightens out and White Cottage is about half way down on the right hand side.

From Rye: Take the A259 to Hastings after approximately 2 miles you reach three bridges, take the left turn on the corner opposite the garage to Winchelsea Beach, go through the village and follow the road through Pett Level. It will then start to climb towards Fairlight. Stay on the road and pass the left turn to Fairlight Village, continue up the hill and White Cottage is on your left after 1/4 mile.
