The accommodation is quite unique because it is let as a spacious private unit, therefore there is only one party of guests here at any one time. The rooms, which are centrally heated throughout, are full of antique furniture and homemade patchwork quilts and quality furnishings including comfortable 'sink into' chairs, chesterfield and chaise longue, and a 'step up into' brass and iron Victorian double bed. There is a colour television, numerous books, magazines, games, cards and jigsaws. Also tea and coffee making facilities.
Guests, especially walkers, appreciate the old deep bath and piping hot water. There is also a hairdryer. Drying facilities including the 'Sheila Maid' airer over the Aga are most useful at times!
Food
Substantial home-cooked meals are eaten in the kitchen around the scrubbed pine table, and served at a time of the guests' choice. The kitchen retains its character with the original York stone flags on the floor and numerous hooks in the ceiling from which our own home cooked hams and bacon hang. The Aga adds warmth as well as a traditional way of cooking.
