About The Seaham

Built in 1835 the terrace called Waterloo Place (named after the famous battle fought twenty years earlier), on which the Seaham is situated has been welcoming guests for well over a century. Considered to be of significant architectural importance, the terrace, along with most of the buildings on the seafront, is protected under grade 2* listing by English Heritage.

Christina and Sean took over the Seaham in January 2007 and hope to improve on what is already considered to be one of the best Guest Houses in Weymouth .

Not resting on their laurels they have already totally refurbished three rooms to a very high comfortable standard (rooms 1, 3 & 4) with a view to complete the remaining two rooms (2 & 5) by the New Year. Along with a warm, friendly and down to earth welcome they offer a ‘breakfast to die for' in comfortable, stylish surroundings. The food served is from a top quality butcher who provides local free range produce, they also offer a selection of fish dishes plus a vegetarian menu. It is their aim to maintain a very high standard for the foreseeable future.

About Weymouth

Weymouth's popularity as a seaside resort is attributed to King George 111 who came to bathe in the sea as a health cure for his nervous disorder. The beach is superb and consists of sand which sweeps around the bay changing to shingle along the extended promenade. All the usual facilities are on hand, Punch & Judy, swing boats, trampolines, volleyball court and Weymouth's famous sand modeller.

As one would expect of a coastal resort, water sports feature prominently in the list of activities. With excellent wind conditions all year round the waters of Weymouth Bay and Portland Harbour are a Mecca for windsurfers and dinghy sailors, and divers come to the area to explore the wrecks lying around the coast. As one of the top angling venues in the country Weymouth offers all types of fishing, from the child's rod dangled from the pier to deep sea fishing trips which can be booked from one of the charter boats in the harbour. Golf, cycling, walking, bowling, swimming, the list of opportunity for sport is endless.

Attractions include The Timewalk and Brewery Days which takes visitors on an unforgettable voyage to experience six hundred years of Weymouth and Portland's history. The Sea Life Park's themed marine displays reveal the fascinating habitats found beneath the waves and at The Deep Sea Adventure and Sharky's children can jump, swing, slide and climb in the adventure play zone while adults take in the Titanic exhibition on the upper floors.

With a new shopping centre, lots of excellent places to eat and drink, a wide choice of accommodation and a year-round calendar of events it is little wonder that Weymouth is a town to which people return time and time again.
