Local Attractions

Things to do in Weymouth and Dorset

With an exceptionally mild climate and soft, sandy beaches, it is easy to see why King George III and the Royal family spent so many of their holidays in Weymouth. But that's by no means all the town has to offer.

A restored Victorian fort, buildings of historic interest and colourful gardens now mix harmoniously with the new town shopping centre complex, a multiplex cinema and 10-pin bowling alley. The picturesque harbour is home to countless fishing boats, pleasure craft and yachts, as well as Condor's high-speed ferries making daily trips to the Channel Islands.

Our B&B is conveniently located within easy walking distance of all of Weymouth's major attractions, so if you are wondering where to stay, look no further than Oaklands!

Location

Oaklands luxury B & B in Weymouth is located in a quiet avenue within easy walking distance of the beach and town centre

Oaklands luxury B & B accommodation is approximately 5 minutes walk from Weymouth's seafront and 10 to 15 minutes walk from the town centre.

By Car
From Dorchester, take the A354 to Weymouth. As you come over the Ridgeway into Weymouth, keep following the main road down the hill and then straight on at the traffic lights. At the first roundabout, go straight across, past the Morrison's supermarket on your left. You will pass a Lidl supermarket on your left and then a parade of shops on both sides. Just past the shops, turn right into Carlton Road North and then take the second left into Glendinning Avenue. Our B & B Weymouth is at the far end of the road on the right hand side. Car parking is available in front of the property and to the rear, off Carlton Road South.

By Train
Weymouth train station is approximately 10 minutes walk from our B & B.

As you come out of the main entrance of the train station, turn towards your left and walk down Ranelagh Road, which runs parallel to the train line. At the far end of the road, proceed up the steps and then straight on along the footpath (do not turn right here). At the far end of the footpath, turn right into Carlton Road South. Glendinning Avenue is the first road on the left and you will see our B & B on the corner of Glendinning Avenue and Carlton Road South.

Alternatively, taxis are usually available immediately outside the station.
