Bed and Breakfast Description

Located in a quiet haven of North Yorkshire, just on the outskirts of Pickering - our 18th Century farmhouse Bed and Breakfast accommodation is set within 32 acres on the banks of Pickering Beck, and surrounded by the spectacular scenery of the moors - where you can enjoy a relaxing holiday, go bird watching, or take one of the many pleasant walking or cycling routes, with 800 yards of trout fishing onsite.

When the weather is good enjoy a game of croquet or boules on the lawn or giant Geronimo Jenga in the courtyard. For the athletic amongst you football is available on the field, table tennis in the barn or how about a game of swingball. For the kids a playpark is situated on the back lawn.

Pickering is an historic market town and the official gateway to the North York Moors National Park. Pickering is located in North Yorkshire between York and the North Yorkshire Coast, making it the ideal holiday location for visitors to the region.

Here you can take a relaxing ride through beautiful countryside on England's longest steam railway (The North Yorkshire Moors Railway). Visit Castles, stately homes, museums and galleries. Take part in one of the many events which are organised throughout the year. Explore moorland, forests, history, the Yorkshire Coast. Or for excitement you can go off road at the U.K's largest off road driving centre. For family thrills, Flamingo Land Theme Park and Zoo is nearby, so there's plenty to do for adults and kids alike.

In Pickering you will find an excellent choice of restaurants, cafes and pubs, serving a wide variety of dishes. Pickering Market Place has an excellent choice of local shops.

The Cottage is an attractive barn conversion, originally from the 19th century, and includes its own patio garden with a seating area - a perfect place to spend a quiet evening after a warm summers day.

Pickering Attractions

Eden Camp
You can spend an entire day at Eden Camp and still not see all of the attractions available. Here you will be taken back in time - to Britain during the Second World War. A historic museum unlike any other - Eden Camp was originally a prisoner of war camp. Today you can experience the sights, sounds, and even the smells of wartime Britain.

Flamingo Land
For high adrenaline rides and a lively day - with fun for all the family, Flamingo Land takes some beating. With over 1.4 million visitors in 2005 - it remains one of the UK's most popular tourist attractions. If you're not one for the rides - or you have small children, then fear not; as Flamingo Land also has an amazing Zoo - with a huge variety of animals, from the most deadly to the nearly extinct.

York
York is within easy reach and has much to offer; including Jorvik Viking Centre, The National Railway Museum, York Minster - one of Europe's finest Cathedrals, and York Racecourse.

Castle Howard
Castle Howard provides a grand and leisurely day out. Enjoy the garden, grounds and Manor.

Dalby Forest
The forest drive and scenic walks of Dalby Forest provide an excellent day out all by itself, or for a more detailed trip - why not include them in a circular tour of the area.
