Bed and Breakfast Description

The house is situated in a secluded residential area just outside Durham city. Offering easy access to the city itself and close to the excellent road network for easy access to the rest of County Durham, My Way provides an ideal base from which to explore the area.

As well as having an en-suite or private facilities and their own entrance. Each room opens onto a decked patio area, an ideal location for those evening drinks overlooking the gardens as the sun sets over the valley beyond.

The large conservatory has stunning views and there are several sitting areas just outside the guest rooms.

The gardens offer guests the privacy to relax outdoors with a cool drink in the summer months and to enjoy breakfast on the sunny patio.

Breakfast is served each morning in our conservatory or your own private patio area overlooking the gardens for a truly relaxing start to the day.

Also for the comfort of all of our guests, the Guest House is strictly non-smoking throughout.

Local Attractions

The County's fascinating blend of Christian, social and industrial heritage, combined with some of England's most beautiful and unspoilt landscape, will surprise and delight the visitor.

There are a number of excellent walks and cycle tracks within minutes of the house, the Angel of the North, and the Metro Centre, the largest shopping centre in Europe are an easy 15-20 minute drive away. And the picturesque Durham countryside is literally on the doorstep.

There is plenty to see and do in the city including:

• The historic City of Durham.
• The lovely scenery of the Durham Dales.
• Beamish, The North of England Open Air Museum.
• The Josephine and John Bowes Museum.
• Impressive Castles.
• Industrial Heritage.
• The Angel of the North.
• The Metro Centre shopping complex.

Durham Cathedral is high on the list of attractions most visitors want to see. The magnificent Norman cathedral, founded in 1093, the shrine of St. Cuthbert and a focus of Christian worship in the Diocese of Durham is a truly magnificent sight, the cathedral and castle are both a World Heritage Site.

Visitors can see the Monk's Dormitory, Tower, Treasury Museum and Audio-visual presentations.

The County's proximity to Hadrian's Wall, Lindisfarne, and the Northumberland Coast, Scottish Border Country, the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District makes it an excellent touring base.

The renowned warmth and friendliness of the locals, makes this an ideal holiday destination.
