Our establishment is fitted with central heating throughout. Our BNB is a working farm. All rooms have TV. All or some rooms have ensuite facilities. All or some rooms have private bathrooms. All rooms have tea and coffee making facilities.
Hairdryers are available in rooms or on request. Internet access available in rooms or residents lounge. Smoking is not permitted in the establishment.

Description

Wheatleys Farm is a dairy farm on the edge of the peaceful and picturesque village of Ashton Keynes, the first village on the River Thames.

We are situated in the South Cotswolds near Cirencester and within the Cotswold Water Park, surrounded by our own land with the River Thames running through the farm.

Accommodation comprises two spacious and comfortably furnished ensuite rooms (one family and one double with a kingsize bed). Each room has radio alarm, remote controlled colour television, hairdryer and hospitality tray.

You can enjoy a good farmhouse breakfast cooked with locally sourced produce where possible in our conservatory overlooking the garden, before spending a relaxing day doing your own thing.

We have a large garden and ample off-road car parking.

Two village pubs are within walking distance and both offer excellent food. Alternatively, we can recommend a variety of restaurants within a few miles.

We farm about 500 acres, milking 200 Holstein cows and rearing all calves either for beef or as dairy replacements. The arable land is used to produce feed for the animals all year round.

Local Attractions
Bed and Breakfast in the heart of the Cotswold Water Park

Here there are picnic and barbeque sites with plenty of parking and access to a network of footpaths, cycleways and bridlepaths.

It is an internationally recognised area for wildlife and birdwatching. You can visit five nature reserves with bird hides. Day permits for fly and coarse fishing are available.

Cirencester (6 miles) "The Capital of the Cotswolds" Street markets each Monday and Friday and farmers' markets every 2nd & 4th Saturday of the month. Visit the Arts and Crafts centre, the newly refurbished Corinium Museum detailing the history of the town from Roman times. St John Baptist Church titled the "Cathedral of the Cotswolds" or walk in Cirencester Park or the Abbey grounds.

Bourton on the Water (15 miles) "The Venice of the Cotswolds" See the Model Village & Railway. Visit Birdland and the Motor Museum

Fairford (10 miles) St Mary's Church with it"s unique 28 medieval stained glass windows and walks along the beautiful River Coln.

Lechlade (15 miles) Here the River Thames has grown enough for boating and locks with nearby facilities for Trout Fishing. The town is a haven for antique hunters.

The North Cotswolds as far as Stratford-on-Avon has many beautiful stone villages such as Bibury and Stow-on-the-Wold. Don't forget a visit to Burford Wildlife Park.

The South Cotswolds stretching almost to Bath includes towns like Tetbury and Malmesbury and villages such as Castle Coombe. Westonbirt Arboretum and Abbey House Gardens in Malmesbury are essential visits for the keen horticulturalist. The WWT reserve at Slimbridge is a major attraction for bird lovers.

If you wish to be more active, sailing, windsurfing, snorkeling, canoeing, waterski-ing, jetski-ing, cycling, paintballing, horse-riding and golf facilities are available within 5 miles from our accommodation.

Wheatleys Farm Bed and Breakfast is located just to the south of Cirencester within the Cotswold Water Park between Cheltenham, Gloucester and Swindon.

From the A419 (Swindon to Cirencester Road) take the B4696 signposted to the Cotswold Water Park, Spine Road Junction.

Drive to end of road (approx 2-3 miles) where there is a straddled crossroads. Turn left.

After about 200 metres turn left again signposted into the village.

Drive straight through the village of Ashton Keynes.

As you leave the village you pass our farm on the left, the farmhouse is 50 metres further on the left.
