Description
|
|
Dromard offers friendly, relaxed accommodation, ensuite, non-smoking rooms, which all have TV and tea facilities. There is a guest lounge with some books, games and videos and lots of tourist information. We have private fishing jetties in our lovely conservation woodland and a walk to the shore of Lough Erne. We have awards for Woodland and Countryside management, Best Ulster Farm Accommodation and Sharon was a finalist in the 2005 AA Landlady Of The Year Awards.
The farm has a number of interesting historical features including a crannog, tree ring, stone stile and stone gateposts.
There are now four bedrooms, each with en-suite facilities. The venture has proved to be very successful as the farm is ideally situated on the main Belfast road leading to Enniskillen, which is a main tourist route.
A unique feature of the guest facilities is a pathway which has been developed through some of the mature woodland near the farmhouse. This is ideal for studying and identifying different tree species, and is much appreciated by guests.

Local Attractions
|
There is a warm and relaxed atmosphere, and our guests are welcome to walk through the woods, right to the lake shore, to relax and enjoy the lovely scenery and wildlife.
There is a wealth of activities and places to visit. Enniskillen, county town is on an island which is very charming, and a frequent winner of the Irish 'Best Kept Town' competition. There is much to explore including the 'Buttermarket' Craft & Design centre, Town Hall, Cathedral, Coles Monument, The Round 'O' lakeside park and Enniskillen Castle Museum.
We have many excellent restaurants and shops, a seven screen cinema and the beautiful Ardhowen Theatre, right by the lake.
There are a variety of boat trips, in season, on Lough Erne, and all the usual countryside activities are easily available such as horse-riding, golfing, fishing and bird watching.
Our county is rich in good walks and the recent publication "25 Walks in Fermanagh" is recommended. It is available from our award winning Tourist Information Centre, Tel. (028) 66 323110.
We have three excellent National Trust properties nearby, Castle Coole, Florencecourt and Crom Estate, 17th Century castles at Tully and Monea, the monastic ruins of Devenish Island and the mysterious carved stone figures of White Island.
Unique to Fermanagh are the Marble Arch Showcaves, adjoining Cladagh Glen and recently opened Cuilcagh Mountain Park. These make up one of just 12 new 'Geoparks' in Europe.
