Dolffanog Fawr is an 18 th Century farmhouse that has recently been thoroughly renovated and converted into one of the finest small luxury accommodation establishments in Snowdonia. The house is situated in the heart of the stunning Tal-y-llyn valley. With views across sheep pasture to Tal-y-llyn lake, and with Cadair Idris virtually rising from the back garden, you couldn't wish for a more relaxing environment.

Alex & Lorraine pride themselves in offering genuine hospitality and providing luxury accommodation at an affordable price. We firmly believe in offering value for money in everything that we do.

You'll find the dining experience is one not to miss during your stay at Dolffanog Fawr. Our superb breakfasts and home cooked meals use the best of local produce, and we have an outstanding wine list to match.

We believe in sourcing good, local ingredients, in turn supporting local suppliers and keeping food miles to a minimum.

For the last 2 years we have not only been awarded a 5 star grade by Visit Wales we have also gained the prestigious Gold Award - an award introduced to reward exceptional comfort, hospitality and quality. Less than 2% of accommodation providers achieve this accolade.


Our bedrooms have been furnished in a traditional manner but at the same time giving a contemporary feel. They have large pocket sprung beds, crisp white cotton linen and locally woven contemporary welsh throws.
