Local Attractions

The Parish of Ewenny lies just off the southern edge of the town of Bridgend, about 20 miles west of Cardiff. Although Bridgend is an industrial town, with large plants belonging to Sony and Ford, the parish is firmly in the rural (and beautiful) Vale of Glamorgan. Some of the most stunning coastline in Britain is in walking distance.
Spiritually, if not geographically, the Parish of Ewenny is centred around the Priory Church . The local community comprises two small villages that now run into each other, with a total population of not much more than 1000 people.
Until a decade ago the parish had been, for much of the last century, in the care of a succession of Priests in Charge. In 1990 it was brought into the benefice of Ewenny and the neighbouring parish of St Brides Major.
Bracken to the left of you, bracken to the right and a fairway rising up to the sky. The maestro Henry Cotton described the first here as one of the most difficult opening holes he'd encountered. This downland links championship course has wonderful rolling fairways and fast greens. The par-3 5th is played across a valley and the 18th, with its split level fairway is a very demanding closing hole which over the years has dealt many golfers a severe blow so close to home. A true test of golf for all golfers irrospective of handicap.
Ewenny Pottery is situated on the outskirts of the village Ewenny, near the town of Bridgend, South Wales.
SewinFly provide a tailored, personalised service that many people find to be far more beneficial than the 'normal', large-group-based tours. They provide an excellent fishing experience!
At high tide the beach is totally useless but at other times this is a huge sandy beach.

Take a left at the next roundabout signposted Ogmore-By-Sea and follow on this road for approx 1 mile until you see us on your right.
