Bed and Breakfast Description

This beautiful residence is located in Oldbridge, near Lough Dan Lake on the internationally renowned Wicklow Way Walk, 4km from the village of Roundwood, and 6km from the monastic city of Glendalough, in the county of Wicklow on South East Coast of Ireland.

Wicklow Way Lodge oozes charm as it nestles on the mountainside enjoying some of the most spectacular scenery in Ireland. The house is built on a family farm, which bounds the 'National Park' and is a walkers paradise. Some of the most interesting and breathtaking walks in Ireland start at its doorstep.

Wicklow Way Lodge accommodation comprises double and twin bedrooms and one large family bedroom, which can take up to six people. All rooms have an en-suite bathrooms, colour television, under floor heating, tea and coffee making facilities and hair dryers. Three of the bedrooms have their own private decking where guests can relax and enjoy the stunning scenery.

While staying at the Lodge, you may amble on the farm that backs onto the most popular Scarr Mountain, or you may prefer to just relax and watch the world go by!

If you are on a walking holiday, you may 'stage' at the Wicklow Way Lodge and enjoy the family atmosphere and excellent cooking, and, fully refreshed you may resume your journey along the Wicklow way. The location is inspirational for the writer, poet, or artist, almost solitude yet very vibrant with nature and pure air in abundance.

Local Attractions

The ancient monastic city of Glendalough is close by and other places of interest include Powerscourt Gardens & Waterfall, Mount Usher Gardens, Clara Lara Funpark, Avondale House and Gardens (birthplace of the Irish political leader, Charles Stewart Parnell), and the National Garden Centre.
Horse trekking, quad biking, fishing, cycling, golf and superb walking are all available close by. Other places worth a visit are Avoca Handweavers and the locations of the TV series 'Ballykissangel' , 'Reign of Fire' (2001), and Glenroe Farm. Wicklow Goal, Greenan Farm Museum and National Exhibtion Garden in Kilquade are also within the vicinity..
In less than 30 minutes driving you have the choice of 10 golf Courses, including Powerscourt, Roundwood, Druids Glen and Woodenbridge.

From Dublin Airport/Dun Laoghaire Port - Take N11 south to Kilmacanaogue, turn left (R755) up slipway and over flyover; signposted for Roundwood & Glendalough, then continue for15Km to Roundwood village. Turn right at the Roundwood Inn. Follow ALL the Lough Dan signs until you reach sign for Laragh/Glendalough (4Km to Oldbridge) turn left at 'Y' junction and follow this sign up steep hill (300m).

From Laragh turn left at sign for St Johns Church, follow signs - 6km. Distance from Dublin Airport (65 minutes). Distance from Dun Laoghaire port (45 minutes). Distance from Rosslare port (90 minutes)
