Situated in the heart of the ancient Cinque Port town of Rye, the White Vine House's origins go back to the 13th century. A handsome Georgian frontage has been added since but within, the building retains much of its distinguished Medieval and Elizabethan character. Rye is rich with fascinating history and architecture to discover, and we’re proud to say the White Vine House plays an important part in the story.
All of the seven guest rooms have been refurbished and include period furniture and a contemporary en-suite bath or shower. Your comfort and relaxation are our highest priorities so we gladly provide a hospitality tray stocked with freshly ground coffee, assorted teas, Hildon mineral waters and a few small nibbles. When you check in we’ll offer you a flask of fresh milk to enjoy with your tea or coffee in your room. You can also avail yourself to our wine list and fully-stocked drinks service from The Vine Restaurant downstairs. The Vine is Rye’s latest family-friendly restaurant specializing in contemporary bistro fare.
Whilst each of the rooms retain all of their historic charm, we hope you’ll enjoy the modern touches as well. Wi-Fi access is available free of charge to our guests from June 2008, and all rooms come equipped with a flat-panel television, DVD/CD player, and an iPod docking station. You will also find hairdryers, illuminated make-up mirrors, lint rollers and an iron & ironing board, plus extra bedding.
As a member of the global community, we’re happy to do our part in helping to protect the environment and to support local merchants. Not only do we recycle our glass, but every guest room includes organic, hand-crafted soap from the Visionary Soap Company, based in Hastings, and all-natural, non-animal tested toiletries from Naturally Thinking, in Surrey.
We are licensed for civil ceremonies and can offer bespoke menus for any special occasion.
Come and relax with us and enjoy the White Vine House's latest era. |
