Bed and Breakfast Description

 

The Sun Inn dates back to the late 17th century and is situated near Naseby, the site of the battlefield of the Civil War.

The first documented evidence of the existence of the main building of the property known by the sign of the Sun is dated 1719, which makes the Inn at least 280 years old. A copy of the legal documents giving details of the inn being given as a marriage settlement, is situated on the wall adjacent to the main bar.

All 20 en-suite bedrooms have recently been redecorated and refurbished and have colour television, tea and coffee making facilities and direct dial telephones. The premises have recently undergone a £1 million refurbishment programme.

Our restaurant offers traditional and exotic cuisine for all tastes. If you wish to have an intimate dinner or an evening business dinner meeting, we will strive to meet your requirements with good food and a discerning wine list.

There are many places of interest within an easy drive of Marston Trussell including: Althorp Hall, Warwick and Belvoir Castle, Burghley House, Rutland Water, Bradgate Park, Foxton Locks, Bosworth and Naseby Battlefields, Silverstone, Donnington, Mallory Park Race Circuits, Kilworth
Springs Golf Course, Rockingham Motor Speedway and of course our local Market Town.

Directions from the M1:

Leave the motorway at junction 20 and follow the signs to Market Harborough, on the A4304. After the village of Theddingworth and before the village of Lubenham take the turning right to Marston Trussell, it will appear as though this turning is into a large parking lay-by. Follow this road through Marston Trussell and you will find the Sun Inn Hotel & Restaurant on the right hand side of Main Street. Parking is available at the rear of the Hotel.
Directions from the A14:

Leave the A14 at the intersection for Welford and Northampton on the A5199. Turn towards Welford along the A5199 and travel through the village of Welford and on towards Husbands Bosworth. On entering Husbands Bosworth you will approach the junction of the A5199 and the A4304. Turn right onto the A4304 towards Market Harborough. After the village of Theddingworth and before the village of Lubenham take the turning right to Marston Trussell, it will appear as though this turning is into a large parking lay-by. Follow this road through Marston Trussell and you will find the Sun Inn Hotel & Restaurant on the right hand side of Main Street. Parking is available at the rear of the Hotel.
