Bed and Breakfast Description

 

A traditional Lakeland Stone House with magnificent views of the surrounding fells where Karen and John Greaves have created an atmosphere of warmth and friendliness, which is apparent from the moment you arrive and service so good you hardly notice it.

Raise View's seven ensuite bedrooms are all tastefully decorated and furnished to a style, which complements the ambience of this traditional Lakeland house. The rooms are named after local interest and all rooms enjoy fine views with the four rooms at the back of the house sharing the majestic splendour of the Easedale and surrounding fells.

The superior and standard rooms are well appointed with fully co-ordinated soft furnishings. Luxury crisp white linen and fluffy white towels are standard in all rooms.

Wordsworth, Stone Arthur and Easedale are the superior rooms. The doubles having king size beds and the twin recently re-furnished in a beautiful range of floral pastel fabrics and furniture. The superior rooms are slightly more spacious.

Jackdaw, Helm Crag, Rothay and Easedale enjoy the magical view, which is a joy to wake up to. Gingerbread is our popular single room and is well appointed and cosy.

 

Grasmere Attractions

 
Just five minutes walk from the centre of the village Raise View House is perfectly situated to explore the whole region yet some of the area’s most breathtaking scenery and fascinating attractions are right on the doorstep.

 

B&B Location
 
Coming by car from the South, turn off the M6 at Junction 36 and follow the A591 through Windermere and on to Grasmere. At the mini roundabout ignore the first sign for Grasmere village and carry on for 1 mile until you reach the Swan Hotel on your right. At the Swan Hotel turn left into Swan Lane. Raise View House is a little way down this road on the right at the intersection of Pye Lane.

From the North, turn off the M6 Motorway at junction 40 and take the A66 towards Keswick, turning left at the sign for Windermere and Thirlmere through St John in the Vale. Turn left when you reach the A591 and on to Grasmere. Turn right at the Swan Hotel into Swan Lane. Raise View House is a little way down this road on the right at the intersection of Pye Lane.
