Bed and Breakfast Description

Nanteos Mansion is the ideal place to to escape to for a weekend getaway, or to use as a base for exploring Wales's beautiful countryside and rich heritage. Set in 30 acres of stunning scenery, this beautiful Georgian house and estate provide impressive surroundings.

Many legends name Nanteos Mansion as the one-time resting place of the Holy Grail, the chalice that Jesus and his disciples are believed to have drunk from at the Last Supper.

Nanteos Mansion is also reputed to be home to a number of ghosts. These include the spirit of Elizabeth Powell, the late wife of William Powell, who wanders the hallways looking for her lost jewels; a phantom horse and carriage that pulls up to the front entrance in the middle of the night.

We have five plushly decorated guest rooms, all with en-suite bathroom and commanding views of the surrounding grounds. We have four doubles and one twin; rates are based on single or double occupancy. All prices include breakfast and VAT.

Aberystwyth Castle -
Built in the 13th century by Edward I, Aberystwyth Castle has had a turbulent history, having been rebuilt several times.

Aberystwyth Cliff Railway -
Constitution Hill offers great views over Cardigan Bay.

Aberystwyth North Beach -
The gently sloping sand and shingle beach rests in a sheltered bay.

Aberystwyth Promenade -
This pristine promenade is one of the longest in Britain.

Pendinas -
Pendinas is a prominent hill near the coast on the south side.

Vale of Rheidol Railway -
Passengers can enjoy magnificent views from the carriages.
 

B&B Location
Nanteos sits in a secluded and private position 3 miles south-east of Aberystwyth. From Aberystwyth take the A487 signposted to Cardigan. Turn left onto the A4120 signposted to Devil's Bridge, then immediately right onto the B4340. Continue along the road for approx. 1 mile, until a left hand fork signposted to Nanteos. Follow this lane past the lodge house and up to the mansion.
