Bed and Breakfast Description

The Marsh View hotel and Restaurant is a new family run hotel development adjacent to The Bug and Spider public house. This Grade 2 listed building is situated in the heart of the Wiltshire countryside on the outskirts of Calne.

Quentin and Elizabeth Harflett took over the Bug and Spider in October 1997, at the time the pub was called 'The Bricklayers Arms' and was in need of a total refurbishment. As a grade 2 listed property all the alterations have been designed and built with this in mind. The first phase was to bring the building up to modern standards. In May 2003 the foundations for the hotel accomodation were laid and the first 5 bedrooms were occupied in mid December 2003.

The hotel offers 14 en-suite rooms, including one that is suitable for disabled guests. Rooms are available on a single, twin or family occupancy.

Each room has been specifically designed and furnished to make your stay with us as relaxing and comfortable as possible. The rooms contain a television and DVD / CD player, telephone, fax machine and photocopier, tea and coffee facilites and a convenient hair dryer.

The hotel has full disabled access. Ample parking is available with 24hr CCTV coverage of both the inside and outside of the hotel for your peace of mind.

B&B Location
Our hotel is situated on the A3102 just before you reach the bypass roundabout on the Lynham/Swindon road from Calne. Look for the Bug and Spider public house, the Marsh View Hotel is behind this building.

If you are travelling on the M4 leave on Junction 16 taking the Wotton Bassett, Lynham and Calne road. Our hotel is sign posted as you reach the Calne bypass.

If you enter Calne on the A4 from Chippenham turn left onto the bypass travelling towards Lynham and Swindon. The hotel directional signs start just prior to the last roundabout on the bypass. Entering from the opposite direction on the A4 will take you to the town centre. Simply follow the directions to Lynham this will take you pass the hotel.
