Originally built in 1870 as the summer palace for the Bishop of Portsmouth this lovely, family-run hotel commands the best position and the best selection of facilities of any hotel on the Isle of Wight. With magnificent views of the bay, the hotel has direct access to the beach and the old village of Shanklin and yet is away from traffic noise. Shanklin holds the record for sunshine in the UK.

Our bedrooms are spacious, attractively furnished with many overlooking the bay and are provided with all modern amenities. Facilities include en-suite bedrooms, radio, colour television, tea & coffee making facilities, direct dial telephones, intercom and baby listening in all rooms. The hotel and all of it's bedrooms are fully central heated. We are pleased to be able to offer our guests a wide choice in accommodation. We have separate suites of rooms comprising two and three bedrooms, family rooms, triple, double, twin and single rooms and our "Penthouse Suite" with it's Jacuzzi bath, four-poster bed and private roof top terrace with fantastic views of Shanklin and Sandown Bay.
