Loughbrow House, which dates from 1780, is comfortably furnished, with many antiques adding to its essential 18th century character. There is a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Indeed, our guests have often remarked that this is not like a bed & breakfast, but rather as if they were being welcomed into somebody's home.
Our beautiful gardens, (Mrs Clark's pride and joy!) fresh home-grown produce and home baking, and typical country house ambience, will make your stay at Loughbrow House a relaxing, and wonderfully enriching experience.
Children over 7 years old are welcome, although there is a small canal running through the grounds, so they must be supervised. There is secure off-road parking, and a garage on request. Loughbrow House is open all year round, except for occasional holiday breaks.
Loughbrow house offers a range of facilities to make our visitors feel at home. Guests have access to the large comfortable drawing room, and there is also a smaller sitting room available for two to four people. Our nine acres of gardens, which are opened to the public in support of charity, have terraced water features, a rose garden and herbaceous borders. We have an extensive kitchen garden where our vegetables, fruit and flowers are grown.
There are five guest bedrooms, all simply but comfortably furnished, and have televisions and either ensuites or a bathroom.
We provide a full English breakfast, where guests will be able to enjoy our home-produced marmalades and preserves. If you are travelling as a party of 4 or more, you must eat at least one evening meal with your host, who is a cordon-bleu cook. Vegetarian and other dietary requirements can be accommodated with prior notice. Should you decide to dine here you will be served a 3-course dinner by candlelight with a bottle of wine.
