Description

The Knightwood Lodge Hotel in the New Forest provides the ideal holiday accommodation for visiting the New Forest and surrounding areas. This New Forest hotel is situated on the Southampton Road on the edge of Lyndhurst, opposite the open forest. Originally built in the 1920s, the hotel has been carefully modernised to make it the ideal base for your New Forest holiday.

After a day exploring, why not relax in the hotel's own indoor leisure centre which is well-equipped with a heated pool, spa, sauna, steam-room and exercise room.

Knightwood Lodge has fifteen bedrooms, all en suite, with colour television, including a satellite channel, tea/coffee facilities, mini-bar, direct-dial telephone and hair drier. Some of the bedrooms have forest views.

Local Attractions
Lyndhurst - the "Capital of the New Forest" means "the lime wood". Among its treasures are the Queen's House and the Verderer's Court; the parish church with its fresco by Lord Leighton and fine stained glass windows; the little church at Emery Down; the charming almshouses, and the Girl Guide headquarters at Foxlease. The "old Park" of Lyndhurst is where the Parkhill Hotel now stands, the new park being on the A337 Brockenhurst road. Other treasures must surely be the varied "forest" from the heathland of Parkhill to the bog of Matley, and the open forest with its ancient oak and beech to the enclosures of softwoods.
 

Location
Leave the M27 at Junction 1 and take the A337 to Lyndhurst. Arriving in Lyndhurst you will have to turn left at traffic lights at a T-junction and drive down the High Street. Stay in the left hand lane and follow the road to Southampton as it leaves Lyndhurst and bends gradually round to the left. You will pass Lyndhurst Fire Station on your left, and Knightwood Lodge Hotel is approx. 500m further up the road on the left.
