Bed and Breakfast Description

Situated in a quiet residential area of York, Cook's Guest House is close to the River Ouse and Rowntree Park and is within easy walking distance of York Racecourse, the Railway Station and the City Centre. On-road parking is available and there is an excellent variety of local shops, pubs and restaurants to suit most tastes and needs.

Suitable for the walking disabled offering a stairlift and bath seat facility. Wheelchair available.

Your host offers a warm welcome and invites you to experience the Eastern delight of the Indian and Chinese themed Guest Rooms.

Both rooms are individually furnished and offer colour tv, tea and coffee making facilities plus hairdryer and iron.

The Indian Room is a delightfully decorated double room with separate ensuite offering a bath with bathseats.

The Chinese Room is a wonderfully comfortable family room with double and single bed with ensuite shower and toilet facility.

B&B Location
From the South/A64.
Approaching York on the A64, take the York West city centre turning, also signed for York Racecourse. This is the second turning for York when approaching from the south. Follow this road towards York past the racecourse, and come to a set of traffic lights at the top of a small hill. Harrogate is signed left. Go straight on here, but keep right, and turn right at the next set of lights into Scarcroft Road. Follow this road to traffic lights at a T-junction at the end. Turn right into Bishopthorpe Road, up and then down a small hill, and Cooks Guest House is on the left with a sign outside - number 120.

From the city centre - by car or on foot.
Cooks Guest House is on the south side of the city. Find Skeldergate Bridge, the lower of the three road bridges across the River Ouse, and follow this road southwesterly (ie away from the Castle Museum and Cliffords Tower). Keep left and this road becomes Bishopthorpe Road. Follow past some shops, up a small incline, down the other side, and Cooks Guest House is on the left with a sign outside - number 120.
