Description

Chough’s Nest is a Victorian cliff top retreat built by a Dutch millionaire in the late 1800’s. The hotel has nine well-appointed bedrooms each with their own distinct characters and charms.

We offer double, twin and family rooms or there is the four-poster ‘Nest’ for that special occasion. All are ensuite and include colour television, hospitality tray and big fluffy towels.

The restaurant, with its spectacular views across the sea, is the perfect setting to enjoy our freshly cooked food and fine wines.

Enjoy breakfast with the sun rising over the Countisbury Headland or a traditional Devonshire tea on our terrace.

Local Attractions
Chough’s Nest is just a short walk from the world famous Lynton and Lynmouth Cliff Railway which joins these historic twin villages. For the more intrepid there is the winding footpath, which meanders down to Lynmouth harbour. The Valley of the Rocks, with its magnificent rock formations, is not far along the rugged coastal path.

Chough’s Nest is an ideal base for the walker and cyclist alike, and the wealth of paths and trails, well earn this corner of England the sobriquet of Little Switzerland.
 

Location
The hotel is located on North Walk, just past the parish church. Lynton is located on the north Devon coast on the A39, between the towns of Minehead and Barnstaple.
