Cartref offers memorable Bed and Breakfast accommodation in a well appointed detached Edwardian family home which is Aberdovey’s longest established Bed and Breakfast. This bed and breakfast accommodation is located in the picturesque and historic fishing village of Aberdovey (Aberdyfi) in Snowdonia, Mid Wales. This accommodation offers:
non-smoking bed and breakfast, en-suite accommodation, freshly cooked breakfast with lighter options, convenient location close to centre of Aberdovey and an ideal base for Snowdonia.

Breakfast is taken on individual tables in the breakfast room where you can have an enjoyable relaxing start to the day. We cater for vegetarians or any other special dietary needs. You can discuss your days activities and get advice on what to do, and how to get there from your hosts. There is a large selection of maps etc to help you make the most of your holiday in this beautiful part of Wales.

For those who like to relax outside we have a beautiful veranda where you can sit and read the papers, enjoy a refreshing cup of tea, have a drink before going out to dinner or enjoy the fresh sea air after a day spent exploring this beautiful part of Wales.

Local Attractions
Cartref Guest House is located in the picturesque and historic fishing village of Aberdovey (Aberdyfi) in a unique and quiet corner of the village, but still only a few minutes walk from the many restaurants, bars, shops or Aberdovey’s renowned golden sandy beach.

This is a friendly and relaxing place to stay and is well positioned for you to explore Wales including Cardigan Bay's coast as well as the beautiful mountains of the Snowdonia National Park.

There is plenty to do and see including the Tal-y-Llyn Steam Railway, Centre for Alternative Technology (CAT), and Corris Craft Centre. There are also numerous activities catered for in the area including walking, golfing, mountain biking, kite surfing, fishing, shooting, horse riding, birdwatching (RSPB reserves) or just relaxing and enjoying the scenery.
 

Location
Take the A458 wet from Welshpool and head for the A470.

At the junction withthe A470 turn south towards Cemmaes Road. Take the A489 which brings you into Machynlleth.

Look for a road named Heol y Doll (the A487 north)which will cross the railway line and then the river.

Go left at the next junction, which is the A493,which will bring you into Aberdovey (Aberdyfi)
