Bed and Breakfast Description
|
|
Black Combe House brings all the riches of the region together. Accessibility and quiet roads make this idyllic corner of Cumbria special. You can sample the simple pleasures of Black Combe Country with glorious views of the technicolour fells, with the opportunity to walk, paint, pony trek or play golf. And, in 30 minutes, you could be in the heart of Lakeland.
In a quiet village location, in SW Cumbria, Black Combe House offers hearty breakfasts and comfortable rooms with rural views. All rooms have en-suite facilities plus TV, DVD, hospitality tray, shaver plug and hair dryer. There are 5 double rooms, 1 twin room, 1 single room and 1 family room with twin beds and bunk beds.
A very comfortable guests' lounge with TV, books, magazines and games is available, and if you require internet access, the house is equipped with a wireless router. The dining room may be used for your evening takeaway meal if you wish.
We have a non-smoking policy, and pets are not allowed in Black Combe House. However your dog may sleep in the car on our private and safe forecourt. In the morning we will fill your flask, and if there is anything else you need we'll do our very best to help. |

Local Attractions
|
Black Combe House is only 5 minutes from the beach, the golf club, an equestrian centre , nature reserve and beautiful countryside. Here, where the mountains do reach down and touch the sea, time passes wonderfully slowly.
The coast line is a magnet for all kinds of people. Quiet strollers hand-in-hand, or families with a dog or two, kite-flying enthusiasts mastering the wind and sand-yachters waiting patiently for acres of smooth sand to harden into a runway.
Not far from Black Combe House, you can catch a train and travel along the coast both North and South. A delightful way to relax and enjoy the view.
For those keen to capture the subtle colours of Black Combe Country, there's endless scope for painters and photographers, and if contours are your challenge, climb Black Combe and wish for more time in this barely-discovered corner of Cumbria. |
