Bed and Breakfast Description

This elegant Georgian House built of classic honey coloured Bath Stone dates back to 1735. It was later sympathetically extended in Victorian times and now offers a building of true architectural interest being both listed and in a Conservation area.

Behind its classic and dignified exterior it conceals more than half an acre of splendid walled gardens where trim lawns, and rose-covered pergolas do their best to compete with the splendour of the City below. Overlooked only by the ancient Magdalen Chapel next door, the gardens offer a haven of peace and tranquility away from the bustle of the City below. During the summer months a Petanque rink is available for French Boules when the weather allows.
A small privately owned hotel, David and Annie Lanz ensure guests are offered the very warmest welcome to this fine 17th Century house. Over the years Bath Paradise House has been lovingly restored to its former glory and now offers the very highest standard of hotel accommodation and comfort whilst retaining many of its original features creating an atmosphere of gracious charm and tranquility. Every discretion is given to the comfort and enjoyment of guests and local knowledge is always on offer should you require information on how best to spend your time in and around the beautiful city of Bath.

Local Attractions

Bath is a UNESCO World Heritage City. Its heritage is unique and its popularity as a resort dates back some 2,000 years to the Romans, the original Roman Baths still remain today. There are 40 museums, galleries, gardens and attractions from which our visitors can glean the history of this wonderful city.

With year round appeal Bath itself offers a wide selection of fine shops, galleries, antiques markets and auction houses. The Theatre Royal built in 1805 stands proudly in the city centre and offers a wide range of excellent productions.

Bath is an ideal location from which to explore the many surrounding areas of interest, the Cotswolds are within easy reach as are Stonehenge, Avebury, Longleat House, Stourhead Gardens, Lacock, Castle Combe, and the Cathederal towns of Salisbury and Wells. There are year round Coach Tours from Bath to these areas which many of our guests have enjoyed.
