Ian and Carolyn invite you to Barnabas House, a gracious Edwardian residence, tucked away in a quiet location with views over Dartmoor.
From the moment you arrive we will make your stay a special one, with every attention to detail. Enjoy a relaxing stay in one of our spacious and comfortable rooms. We offer full English or Continental breakfast, using fresh local produce, and delicious home-cooked evening meals on request.
7 lovely bedrooms, with comfortable beds and top quality bed linen and towels. Most rooms have great views over the moor and plenty of space to relax. Our ground floor room even has its own private patio where you can sit and drink in our clean fresh air while watching the beautiful Dartmoor sunsets.
All rooms have colour TV/DVD with Freeview, clock/radio, hair dryer, tea/coffee making facilities and complimentary toiletries. And if you're travelling alone, don't worry, our superb double rooms are available for single occupancy.
We have off road parking and secure storage for cycles, as well as plenty of drying space for boots and outdoor clothes.
Wireless internet access is available so you can keep in touch even when you're away.

Barnabas House is centrally located between the market town of Tavistock and the city of Plymouth. Local amenities are within easy reach and include shops, garages, health centre, churches, several excellent restaurants and pubs.
Drake's Trail, a cycling and walking route, part of National Cycle Route 27, is only 2 minutes from our door.
Buckland Abbey, home of the family of Sir Francis Drake , and the Garden House are less than 3 miles from us, a pleasant walk or easy cycle ride away.
For the energetic, Dartmoor offers numerous sporting opportunities including walking, mountain biking, horse riding golfing, sailing, fishing or just a gentle stroll through magnificent scenery.
From Barnabas House you can explore the wide variety of Devon countryside from the wild beauty of the moors to the rugged Atlantic coastline in the North or the much gentler land and seascapes in the South.
Among the National Trust properties nearby are Cotehele House, Saltram House and Castle Drago.
You can spend a pleasant day visiting the Dartmoor Wildlife Park, the National Marine Aquarium in Plymouth or just enjoy a Devon Cream Tea at one of our local tearooms. |
